No, different shoulder and longer. But close.
Actually had a screw up reaming a 223 to 222mag, when to far and no go gauge will close, so before I have to remove the barrel and take to a smith to have the barrel set back i was looking for alternative cartridge.
It's a tikka with 8'' twist so I was just looking for something that has more poop with 223 bolt face

Yep use 204 gages
You will love it once you extend the Tikka mag & run 75-88 ELDMs

Nice, I did something close to that in the early 90s. Bullbarry gun works did a Tc for me. I used a 222 mag case, 223imp reamer and dies. Came out as a 222mag imp. About the same as a 22-250 speed. Love that little guy, but squirrels dont like it much,lol.
