I killed this Buck after a day and a half of hunting and passing on 30-40 other bucks. We did see one bigger but he was on private property. I shot him at 220 yards and used my remington 700 SPS in .300 Win Mag and 180gr Ballistic Tips (Handloads). The shot was quartering toward me a little and I Hit him behind the shoulder and found the bullet in the opposite hip. he only went 20 yards and was down. Not an ideal shot but it worked. The good news was the cape was in perfect shape. The recovered bullet was a perfect mushroom and looked like it retained quite a bit of its weight. I really like the way his horns lay forward and all the extra trash he has.

Wow!! What a great goat! Lots of character. I'm headed to Gillette in a few weeks. Can't wait to get out there. Thanks for posting your pics. dcl

Great goat. What area did you have?

I just tagged out today on one in area 82. Not huge but not a dink. Wish I coulda put a little more time in but had my 7 year old with me. He was stoked. It was windy and we spotted him on the lee side of a hill. Stalked over the hill and made a high shoulder shot at around 150 yds. Wind was blowing like heck as a cold front had came in and dropped the temp from near 90 to barely 65. Will try to post a pic soon.
