Hey, I was wondering if anyone has stories on the 180 gr Bergers and shoot on smaller animals like deer at closer ranges, I'm looking for a bullet to load that can take everything from whitetail at 70 to elk at 700 and am wondering if that's too much to ask out of the 180s and if maybe there's a bullet that will better serve me. my main concern is meat damage. Thanks!

If you hit heavy bone at high velocity your going to have meat damage with a Berger. Keep your shots off the shoulder. A lighter bullet going faster is probably going to be worse.

7RM, 180 Hyb @ 2996fps MV.

Cow elk, 60 yards.
Note blood trail behind her....she went 40 yards on a dead run.
