I was thinking about trying these out of my 270 win. Anybody shoot these out of a 270 win and care to share there experiences with accuracy and on game performance? I am wanting to take deer out to around 700 yards with this bullet, if its up to the task. Since my rifle shoots better with sierra and hornady type bullets, then noslers hard jackets, I figured the matchkings would/should be pretty accurate out of my 270.

I have shot them at paper only and they shot great. That was before I realized that MK's worked great on game. Darryl Cassel has used them for deer with great success. There were some pic's on this site someware on exit wounds that Darryl posted using the SMK.

25-06, I used these in my Ruger 270 just for paper. I am currently using the 140 grain sierra's like yourself, just because I wanted a "hunting" bullet....that said, these shoot crazy good out of my rifle, and considerably better even than the 140's (which is not bad). For what it's worth, I was using the max load listed right on the can on H4831... 59.5 grains. Your call on game, sounds like they should be fine for deer.

Side note, when do you ship out?

I chickened out. Decided I did not want to drive a 10,000 gallon fuel truck around the war zone. Also did not want to leave my hunting and shooting just yet. I am thinking of using the heavier 150g sgk, or maybe the 150g sst now. I have new brass so need to work up new load anyways. Figured I would shoot the heavier bullet and be safer. I dont know if I'm going to try that 135g smk now or not. I"m sure they shoot real good, but I'm more concerned of on deer performance from 300-700 yards. I dont really want to chance it.

Hey man, good call on both accounts. I'd miss learning from your posts for 4+ months anyway.
