I am curious, what is the legality of installing these barrels on anything but an XP-100 or a 700 action that has NEVER been on a rifle?

One would have to look into that more but I know the one came off a "pistol'' straight from remington. It was classified that because it didn't have a butt stock, only a brace. Basically to do this right it should be assembled on a new action and transferred as a pistol barreled action or an SBR depending on what the owner wants to do.

The problem with an SBR is: It is a federal felony to possess an SBR in the United States unless it is registered with the ATF to the person who possesses it.
Just don't want any one to get them selves in trouble.
