Re: 110gr. V-Max\'s in a 300RUM??

i guess if the bullet can make it that far,and it's in one piece, and you can hit it,i would say there'd be a lot of spray!

Vssf,

Haven't been able to get the accusary out of the 110's. maybe too much Vel.,twist?,powder?

But the Nosler 125BT's shoot at about 1"moa, uncorrected. MV. is at 3830fps.
Terminal disumalation. Crows, feral dogs, woodchucks, uninvited beasts of the tresspass.
125 Nosler Bt
106 grs.H-1000
Rem-Mag primer
A little hot in my 300 Rum with brass life about 7 re-loads.
Wacks things really, really hard and gets out to 500 yds in a hurry.

I shoot the Sierra 110gr and it will shoot sub-sub minute. Does a great job on Alabama
whitetails. I use 95g of IMR 7828 with O.A.L.
of 3.445 while this is a squib load it is super accurate, I don't think the deer know it is a squib load from their reaction!!

Re: 110gr. V-Max\'s in a 300RUM??

Started working up a load for my .308 over the weekend. Tried VV N110, Win primers and managed 3350 with no signs of pressure using 110gr V-Max's. Also ran up some 55gr JRP's at 4030 with 37gr of N110 and no excessive pressure, hope to push that to 4200.
I ran the data for the JRP's in a 300RUM and QuickLoad is suggesting 4450 ! projectile would probably make it all of 10 feet !

Re: 110gr. V-Max\'s in a 300RUM??

VSSF , I've tried some 110gr V-maxes but I diden't have very good results iwth any powder I tried (in a 300Wby) , I did get great results with the Speer 125gr TNT's though and they have a massive splat factor

I've also tried the 155gr Nosler J4 and 155gr Hornady A-max with good results and some seriously explosive results.
