As I recall our NRA 1000 yard targets have a 44" black, that's the 8 ring and in. Nice and big so it is at least visible when shooting iron sights. Doggone thing looks downright tiny when the target is viewed through sights. With a scope of course, all is much better! The 10 ring is about 20" dia, and the X-ring is about 10" dia. It takes a world class shooter to keep 'em all in the 10 ring, particularly if there's any wind to speak of. I haven't ever done it - that's for sure. Mind you, I'm talking NRA prone shooting, with only the sling for support, no bench, no bipod, no bags. The F-class guys get a much smaller target. Believe their X-ring is only 5" diameter at 1000 yards, but I could be wrong on that one. Both standard and F-class targets are run up and shot at the same time at my local club, which has only a 600 yard range - and those new F-class targets look incredibly tough with their 3" X-ring at 600 yards. Regards, Guy
