Bought Desert Safari boots 2 weeks prior to Italy Tour. No break in time needed and other tour groups participants complaining about their feet hurting...not me!! Looking forward to Wyoming archery/hunting in these boots.

I ordered the Safari Guide looking for something more durable than Keens or other light weight boots. They arrived in a couple of days as promised. My actual shoe size is 10.5 wide but this boot is not offered in wide, so based upon the advice from LHR, I ordered 11 REG. The boots fit very well with no heel slip or pinching. The toe box is big enough for me to have some space as well. I wear a fairly thick custom orthotic due to plantar fascitis issues from the Army.

The boot has a very wide opening so it is easy to take on and off. I used the boot dressing provided as recommended. It makes the boot quite a bit darker in color but it looks nice.

My feet are prone overheat so I wear thinner socks. I live in the SW New Mexico and spend lots of time out in rough rocky areas with lots of pointy bushes. It remains to be seen how the boots will suit me in the hot weather. They have been very good thus far.

Be prepared for a break in period. I have 20+ miles on this pair and they are still a bit stiff. I am considering buying a second pair or even upgrading to the Desert Guide model.

If here is one complaint it is that the tread picks up and holds small pebbles and rocks; a small irritation. Perhaps this will cease as the boots break in and treads wear somewhat. I would imagine if there were a lot of mud that the soles might load up.

Thanks for an excellent product, solid advice and speedy delivery. This is my first purchase from LRH. I anticipate future business.
