The Eberlestock X2 pack is one of the most unique hunting day packs you will ever find. At 1830 cubic inches of storage capacity and 4.5 lbs, the Eberlestock X2 is a fairly light, compact pack. But because of its lightweight tubular aluminum frame and heavy-duty compression strap system, the Eberlestock X2 is capable of carrying some serious loads like an elk quarter.

The Eberlestock X2 pack's frame and harness system is quite different from any other Eberlestock pack. A simple lightweight tubular aluminum frame provides strength and rigitity, allowing the Eberlestock X2 to be used almost like a pack frame. Using the Eberlestock X2 pack's Flexchassis and heavy-duty compressions straps, you can lash a huge load to the outside of the pack. Eberlestock mentions a successful field test where a 100 lb bag of sand was loaded into a Spike Camp Duffel and lashed to the Eberlestock X2 with its compression straps.

The Eberlestock X2's harness attaches to the aluminum frame with a full mesh panel which has pads only in the most important places. The Eberlestock X2 panel spans the frame and rides away from the pack creating the largest air space of any Eberlestock pack, resulting in a cool-riding, tight fitting pack. The Eberlestock X2 harness is relatively lightweight and thin, yet quite strong. The Eberlestock X2 hip belt is generously padded and features good size pockets on each side perfect for calls, archery release, knife or other items you want easily accessible at your fingertips.

The Eberlestock X2 features a main storage compartment a bit larger than a typical sleeping bag in its stuff sack. The main compartment is accessed through the top only with a cinch-top similar to a stuff sack. On the back of the Eberlestock X2 main compartment is a small zippered slash pocket about the right size for your lunch. Also on the back of the Eberlestock X2 main compartment is a criss-cross bungee system perfect for quickly lashing items like your jacket to the pack. Multiple Padlock webbing tie points run down each side of the main compartment.

On top of the Eberlestock X2 main compartment is a top compartment containing one large pocket plus a fleece lined pocket perfect for glasses or your PDA. The top compartment is used to lash down the top of your pack by connecting to the bottom Flexchassis using dual vertical compressions straps. The  Eberlestock X2 top compartment has a nice tailored shape with some elastic at the bottom creating a tight, sealed feeling.

On either side of the Eberlestock X2 main compartment you will find one of the most unique features of the Eberlstock X2, its wing pockets. When the pack is all strapped down, the wing pockets wrap around the main compartment and cinch everything tight with two heavy-duty compression straps. The wing pockets are designed to each carry a hydration bladder, but they are also a great size and shape to carry spotting scopes, tripods, etc.

The Eberlestock X2 wing pockets have a padded exterior which makes them especially nice for protecting your expensive optics. On the back side of each wing pocket is a tuck pocket which is another good place for spotting scope, tripod, etc., especially if you want super-quick access to those items. The Eberlestock X2 wing pockets feature full-length waterproof zippers and a tether with clip inside for keys, etc. On the outside of the wing pockets are additional cinch-top pockets for hats, gloves or water bottles, and more Padlock webbing tie points.

The Eberlestock X2 is designed to carry a rifle or shotgun in a side scabbard (optional accessory) tucked between the main compartment and one of the wings. The X2 also works really well for carrying a compound bow using the Eberlestock ButtBucket (optional accessory).

Great pack. Lots of room for gear, lightweight and comfortable.

This is my first hunting specific backpack, and it is amazing, I have already used it on a bow hunting trip and it carried the bow flawlessly combined with the butt bucket accessory, the guys at long range hunting are super cool and helpful, I would definitely recommend this pack!

Got this pack for a day pack. It is perfect! It's light, quiet, plenty of storage for hunting gear, wears great, and loos good too. I wanted a pack that would be low slung over the shoulders so I could duck under branches and move through thick brush without it getting caught on anything. It does exactly that. I will be using it for bow and rifle season. I'm 5'-9" and 165 lbs and this pack fits my torso well. I can see that when carrying a heavy load, the bottom of the frame may rub into your back as there is no padding on it and the belt sits just above it. Haven't load tested it but look to come out heavy this year.

This is the backpack I was looking for to use for bow hunting, gun hunting and black powder hunting. The service is great and I will be back to purchase more from this Company.

Exellent pack. This is my third eberlestock pack. Have a J104 and an X1A1, Both packs serve there purpose. The X2 looks like just the ticket fo a dedicated bowhunting pack, Great service and super fast shipping, Top notch.

Andy, Your service is like no other. I have at least a half dozen packs. The X2 is by far the pack I should have bought first. I have the feeling the other packs will be collecting dust.

I own more than a dozen packs and the x2 has now become my favorite. The comfort is 2nd to none. The only concern i would have is if someone was much taller than i am it might be short in the torso i am 6'0 and 200 lbs. so far i have carried the pack about 40 miles worth of hunt elk and mule deer. Great pack!

I like the pack. I am 6 foot 2" and have got a little rubbing on my lower back from the frame during training with 40lbs in the pack and 6 mile hikes.

Andy, the X2 pack came yesterday and I am delighted with it. It looks like
just about the perfect day pack to me. Plenty of room and lightweight and
comfortable to wear. Thank you for helping me pick this one. It wasn't
even on the radar when I started. I am sure it will be perfect with rifle
