Badlands 2200 review by Andy Backus of the Long Range Hunting Store:
The Badlands 2200 Pack was the pack that started it all for Badlands when they were the first manufacturer to bring a mountaineering design background to hunting packs. The Badlands 2200 has been redesigned for 2013 and is full of unique features for the serious hunter including the ability to carry a rifle, bow, tree stand, tripod, spotting scope and, of course, a heavy elk quarter or bear cape.

At 2900 cubic inches and 5 1/4 pounds, the Badlands 2200 pack fits right into the class of packs that works equally well as a day pack or a multi day bivy pack. The Badlands 2200 features a simple yet strong frame system made of two verticle aluminum stays that efficiently transfer your load to your hips. The aluminum stays can be removed and bent to customize the fit. The back panel on the 2200 is well padded with modern, contoured padding that hugs your back and hips for a tight, solid feel. The hip belt is sturdy and well padded plus it features easily accessible pockets for smaller items that you need access to like calls, rangefinder, gps, archery release, etc.
The generous main compartment on the Badlands 2200 pack is flanked on either side by verticle bat-wing pockets and triple horizontal compression straps making it extremely versitile and easy to solidly strap on just about anything you might want. A very unique feature of the 2200 pack is the large zippered access on the back panel of the pack that allows you to keep your waist belt attached and swing the pack around in front of you to access items out of the large main compartment. I love this feature!
The Badlands 2200 pack is made of light-weight yet durable, waterproof rip-stop nylon and features tons of little extra details that make it extremely organized and comfortable like a dedicated spotting scope pocket, built-in meat shelf and shoulder strap load lifters. There is even a dedicated spot for a 95 oz Badlands water bladder (sold seperately) and a system to keep the bladder's hose where it should be.
