A trip down memory lane?I still like the 338-378 weathetby for long range hunting .I do want one with a 32 inch barrel to get yhe full speed out of it .I will use mine where long range shots are present.
That sounds awful to shoot. I like the horsepower though with a copper. Talk about a lightning bolt.My gunsmith shoots a 338/378 with a 225 Barnes ttx @3400 fps, he says it just flattens bull elk!
I don't know though….Been listening to all these new aged hunting podcasts and they pretty much say you should only use Berger bullets and 6.5s….
Meanwhile I make things like these .375s with 235 TSXs shooting at 2975 fps. .308 Win next door for reference.
