does anyone have a good starting load for the .06 using a hornady 168 ELD M and RL26? neither Hornady nor Alliant powder has tested loads for RL26 in this caliber

According to QL, you should be able to reach 3,000 fps assuming a 24" barrel.

Just using the defaults in QL and 24" barrel:
61 gr is 101% fill and gets you 2,723 fps at about 42,000 psi
66 gr is 109% fill and gets you 2,997 fps at about 56,300 psi

thanks, 3stooge I"ll drop down about 10% and go from there,I am hoping to get over 3000 pfs as I am now getting 2945fps with 56.0 grains of H100V so we will see what happens

You may have a hard time getting a load compressed much over 106% with RL26.
The BA seems to be a bit more than QL has it listed for so you may get close to 3000 FPS with a charge close to 106% (my lot # 08014Y050115 of RL26 showed a BA of closer to 0.3558 rather than the default of 0.3397) with my lot at 106% fill it would be 2988 fps at 55,906 psi. with 64.1 gr. and my 06 allows for seating out to 3.390", by seating longer using 106% fill 65.1 gr. it would be 3014 fps at 57,178 psi. all from a 24" tube.
It shows real promise with with heavy bullets like 208 ELD-M in the 06, I am going to give them a try sometime. Using 208 ELD-M HBN coated , Coal of 3.390" a case fill of 105.4 PSI of 59,145 QL shows with my lot of RL26 I could potentially get 2750 fps. that would make the 06 capable of 1 mile shots if accuracy was good at that speed with U79.7 moa and would still be supersonic at 1500 yards, again out of a 24" tube.
