I appreciate the advice! I'm taking my time and trying to build this one right, it's not the HP as you have as I'm just building a 300WM but I ran a throating reamer to get a little more out of the round and it seems to be doing well with the donor scope I've got on it until I can make a decision on scope. I have a FFP on my 243 and it just seems like it covers a lot of the target say out 1200-1400 yards reason I was thinking the SFP and it's a Mil/Mil scope and I will say it's nice to not have to make so many revs but wondering on the accuracy at the longer ranges with adjustments? I'm that picky guy lol

I never thought about it but I guess I could zero the scope in the upper portion of the reticle but I'd sure like to be able to hold center scope as I'm pretty familiar with brain farts and I could see where that would go but I guess it's an option. And nothing against the Vortex scopes as I have one and it's a pretty decent scope it's just you see Nightforce on most of the ELR rigs so it makes you wonder why and I believe it's the adjustments.... correct me if I'm wrong please as this is a newer kind of game for me.

I have Nightforce and Sightrons SIII.

The Sightron SIII can easily make it well past 1000 yards.

Is a Sightron SIII the equivalent of a Nightforce, no. There really is a difference between a $2500 scope and a $1000 scope. That does not mean the Sightron SIII is not a very respectable scope for the money. It is. On a value for money bases I bet a lot (of competition time) on Sightrons SIII.

I just received my Sightron SV. I am very much looking forward to getting that in the field with my Nightforce and of course the real test, marginal light conditions. This is where the Nightforce actually wins against the SIII. Unaided night shooting. So far, in low low light conditions, basically shooting by the light of the moon, the Nightforce wins against Sightron SIII and Leupold. Not a surprise. How will the SV fair. It won't be long before I know.

I hope you have at least a 20 MOA base.

BTW: Burris Signature Zee rings with -20MOA front and +20 MOA rear gives me a minimum zero of 700 yards. I keep it at 1000 now.

I have Zees for my new Sightron SV and will be doing the same with it. Mounting if possible with the same ring position as the Nightforce 5.5-22. Looking for the same zero so I can compare how much elevation is left in the Sightron. It takes a lot to go from 1000 yard zero to 2000 yards.

I would say you are on the right track with SFP. I can't deal with FFP. Makes me crazy.

Oh, I just dropped on a Cold Shot LLC M.O.A.B 300

While I like my 20MOA rail+40MOA in the Burris rings, With a 1000 yards zero it's 64MOA to 2000 yards. That does not leave much more to make 2500. Beyond 2500 would be holder overs and that can only go so far.
