Form 4 Update

A year wait, that means I'll get the few I have in jail around thanksgiving.
Plenty of time to finish my dedicated suppressed short barreled 6.5 Creedmoor

The funny thing is, my buddy saw on an Instagram post from Crux that with the new "reorganization" at ATF wait times would be 2-3 months!! Guess that's one way to try and move your product. I asked the lady at ATF about the said reorganization and it basically equates to everyone is working OT.

Scariest words ever spoken...

"Hi, we're from the government, and we're here to help..."

Every time some pea brained bureaucrat gets involved with "reorganizing" and "streamlining" a government agency, they end up f***ing it all up even worse than it was before the "new and improved updates". Sounds like another promise made by a former politician...Anyone remember that little ole "new and improved" thing called "Obamacare"? Prime example of what government and bureaucrats do to already established properly-functioning systems (free-market healthcare).

Just got off the phone with atf and was told also that they are still working on july of 2016 forms. Was told that the months of july through august 2016 before the election were very heavy with applications, and those months are taking a long time to process.

I think all this "processing" is a load. If you qualify on a NICS to buy a firearm, that should be all that's needed to buy a suppressor. If you want to sell it after a couple years, the buyer should then be required to do the NICS at an FFL. Simple. What can they find in a year that can't be found when you do a NICS for a weapon? Am I that ignorant?

It's all a **** racket... It's a complete crock of bureaucratic bullish!t from A to Scheiße...

Personally, I am more of a fan of the SHUSH Act, than the HPA... The SHUSH wants to completely de-reg, and make them like a flash hider, and you can go order one online and ship it straight to your door. No FFL, no red tape, no registration, no paperwork, no wait times, and no extra bullcrap involved. It gets treated like any other non-registered firearm accessory you buy from Midway or Brownells... Place in cart, pay, wait for UPS... That sounds like how it should have been from the beginning, instead of the bullcrap NFA of 1934 being passed...Especially since prohibition has LONG been overturned, and we don't have mobsters (like Al Capone) in funny hats running through the streets of Chicago with "choppers" (Thompson sub-machineguns) terrorizing the neighborhood...

The only reason the silencer is regulated is movies of prohibition era gangsters. Perhaps real prohibition era gangsters.

Like all "gun laws" it fixed nothing regarding criminal, terrorist or the mentally ill problems. Those so disposed will be able to obtain anything they want because they are willing to pay the price. Making it "harder" does nothing except drive them further into the black market. Make no mistake, it all exists on the black market.

Laws, locks, fences and safes are for the nominally law abiding. 1000lb safes have been lifted from garages. Locks picked or broken. Fences crossed. The criminal, terrorist or mentally ill will not be stopped by a "law".

Suppressors should be standard issue on all military and police firearms. It will save billions in hearing loss costs to the VA.

I agree, suppressors should be the same as a muzzle break.

Does anyone really think a drive by shooting would go less noticed if a suppressor was used. Of course not. If a drive by shooter wants to be "quiet" he will find a way.

Does anyone really think a terrorist will kill less people without a suppressor. Of course not. If a terrorist uses a firearm he will kill the same number of people. San Bernadino proved that.

Does anyone think a mentally ill person will kill more students with a suppressor. Of course not.

The issue is not the gun, not the suppressor, not availability of ammunition.

The issue is criminals, terrorists and mental illness. Any gun law or possession restriction will not fix those problems. The data shows the opposite for crime and terrorism. "Gun Free" areas are targets. All of Los Angeles is a target. Schools are targets.

Sorry. Ranting.

Fred, you are dead-on the money. "Gun-free zones" are nothing but soft-targets waiting for something bad to happen.

Which is the dumbest bunch of liberal BS that's ever been forced on the American people. Other than the 8 years of hell that we suffered from 2008-2016...AKA - the O'Dumbo Administration.

Why would you announce that you are unarmed? That's like putting up a sign in front of your house letting thieves know you don't own a gun, and that you don't lock your doors, and what times you will be at work... STUPID!!!

The real reason is not regulation but TAXATION. That's where the ATF budget comes from; cigarette, liquor and suppressor tax stamps and ridiculous licensing. If you remove the taxes and licenses, where does the ATF get their operating budget? And no, getting rid of the branch is not an option because of the other portions of their division. You and I will ante up in one way or another since they are not going to get any more budget to replace the lost taxes. You replace your own losses with different forms of taxation.

I called ATF again on Friday, my form 4 was approved on 8-21. I was reading a thread on another forum and the member there stated that their form cleared 7-1 and the dealer received it on 7-27. Seems like their diligence in shipping matches the approval process...... Hoping I will get my call this or next week.

On another note, when I called the ATF Friday, the lady answered in a nice tone "NFA branch how may I help you?" when I asked her to check status on a form 4, her tone took an immediate turn. I think they get tired of looking these things up hahaha.
