Horses As I See Them By Ian McMurchy

Not roping out that that way OH?
:D Only at yearly rodeos and by mostly out of state riders.

We have lots of local bull riders well past the age to climb onto a bull. They limp around for a month or two afterwards. :D

When I was working in NW Wyoming I met a young fella all busted up and almost in a body cast. He couldn't wait to climb onto another bull. I advised him that when he healed up in a few months, forget the dang bulls and stick with roping.

You fellas chasing and roping those longhorns cast a big loop.

morning, grevience for Ian passing, his comments about the understanding

of horses was and is correct. I will remember his comical comments.

my grandfather in OKLA. raises quarter horses. never took to the animals.

did clean stalls and learned to shoe horses. THK. Ulightbulb:)gun)

Yeah,a guy can team rope until he is very old. We have a century team roping club and in order to enter a team your ages must add up to 100.There are always a few 80 year olds and I agree the roughstock is for young guys. I can't exclude myself from the thrill and pay for it now. I like gentler ones now and ride .quite a bit....Tony

I have raised and been around a lot of cattle, as well as been chased a few times by bulls. I know better than to climb onto the back of a bull and never turn your back on one. :D

My wife had a killer paint mare only she could ride and handle. That mare would kill anyone else. Luckily, I talked her into selling it to a couple of fellas that dealt in bucking rodeo horses. They made a lot of money off that mare.

Hi, well we need good bucking stock for Rodeo.
Those Mexican fighting bulls are killers, I had a Dexter / Longhorn bull here that fought everything and was ver quick and heavy horned.
When I see a cattleman without a saddle horse it just seems pointless to me. Cattle are the greatest reason to get yourself a good mount. The best way , to herd them along, cut them out etc without undo stress and burning the fat of them.
Not to mention a little horse games and hunting horseback.
The horseman is " greener" than any hippy , city , vegetable eating type person, imo

morning, if possible every year. I go to the livestock stock show
here in San Antonio. I joke about horses, some r very handsome
and pretty. my favorite r the cutting horses-racing quarter horses.
any years ago the king ranch here in TX. had a cutting horse
named San-Tee. very well winning well known horse. saw him
perform at the SA Rodeo. justme gbot tum
