    Primer problems

Portx5, I have been reading, on a couple of fourms in the UK, about some issues with CCI BR's. Not delayed firing but no ignition at all. 4 or 5 per batch of 100 reloads... Could be completely unrelated but seems a bit coincidental. Bummer really as I have just stocked up on CCI BR...

PLEASE, help a new member with .260 Rem

noflyers, good calibre you have there - i love my 260Rem custom. Others will be along to comment but here is what works for me: - Nosler custom brass (expensive but saves fannying around with case prep) - Redding type S bushing neck dies (can't remeber the bushing size at the moment) -...

    260 Rem pet loads

1:9 is fine up to 130gr - any heavier and I would want a 1:8. Toyed with the idea of a 260AI but I have a 6.5-284 (barrel burner!) so opted for the standard 260. I also have it set into an AICS stock and am not convinced that 260AI would feed through the mag reliably.

    260 Rem pet loads

I have to say I have found Nosler custom to be very good. Excellent consistency and you do not have to mess around necking Lapua or other top end brass down (or up!). I know some others will disagree, and sure it is expensive, but I would probably not bother with anything else right now. I am...

    260 Rem pet loads

Fireroad, great choice in calibre....for me Nosler Custom 260 brass; 43 grains of Viht N160; 139 gr Lapua Scenar (long range target bullet but load can be used with 140gr SMK also); CCI Br 2 primers. You really need a fast twist 1:8 rather than 1:9 to stabilise the heavier bullets in this...

Thanks guys - much appreciated. Do you think you could send me some pictures of the 4x81 please? Where are you based? Cheers.... PS the '81' refers to relative brightness not objective size...

I am a collector of Pecar Berlin scopes - any out there that you are looking to move on? Also interested in any literature; boxes; instructions; sales info etc... Cheers!

    6.5 Twist

Another vote for 1:8. I have just had a custom 260 rem completed with a 1:8 twist specifically to handle the heavier bullets.

    ultrasonic

As much I don't want to I would have to agree with Boomtube. You won't get any appreciable difference through a factory rifle. There have been quite a few debates about ultra-sonic vs tumbling or a mix of the two. I use a mix of the two but do I see any real differences? Not really. At the...

COL, and brass capacity. Important Considerations.

Compliments to all contributors to this thread. There really are some nice 'balanced' and very helpful views from experienced folks out there. Seems to be an order of magnitude better than some other forums I am a member of. Up to now I have relied (mostly) on traditional over pressure signs -...
