    New Mexico recommends NO use of scopes on muzzleloaders

    So put the scoped muzzleloaders with the rifle season and the keep the scopeless muzzleloaders in the muzzleloader season. The next thing they'll go after is the long range scopes. Game & fish need to figure out seasons and change them instead of restricting equipment!

    .50 Caliber for Elk Hunting

    I've killed moose,bears, and deer with a 50 cal with a TC Encor, 209 Blackhorn powder, 250gr sabots. Center punched a bull moose and stood for about 30 seconds and fell over at 100 yards. Plenty for elk.

    This might be a little off subject. Sorry, don't know enough about gunsmithing but, if you do convert it or get rid of the 6.5-300 I would buy any brass if you have some. Thanks and good luck.

    Shoot big game from the road/vehicle in wyoming?

    Cannot use any part of a vehicle as a shooting rest in Wyoming private or not, and cannot shoot from or across a county road. You can however step off the road several feet and shoot on that side of the road, not across it.
