Fast twist .223 with a 75gr class bullet. This will be effective from 50 yards, to 700. The 22-250 with a 55 grain bullet is pointless past 450 yards.

I wouldnt worry about 1/2 moa groups, as soon as you put that 1/2 moa rifle into a field scenario, 90% of the people behind it are going to turn it into a 1.0-1.5 MOA gun anyway.

Anything will work. Getting into your set undetected is going to be the key. Walk a little further into your sets if you are in a vehicle, 4-wheeler or anything that produces noise.

Innorel tripod and ball head in the photo. It is the 40 mm version, I can put all of my weight on it 170#,without it slipping. Not a huge fan of shooting off of a tripod, but for the money it works fine.
