    Another new barrel manufacturer ...

I purchased a pre-fit stainless, heavy barrel sporter from XCaliber for my 7mm rm & love it! It shoots lights out & the best groups of any rifle I've ever owned.

    H4831 powder

Will H4831 powder work with a Sierra 150 gr Game King bullet in a .270. I have a bunch, but don't see any load data specifically for it in the Sierra manual. I see posts around mentioning it as a good one. Thanks.

Reloading question: Without buying the manual, anyone have reload info for a .270 winchester using a Sierra Game King 150 grain Spitzer boat tail bullet? I have found online source from IMR, but when I cross referenced those same loads to a Hornady manual, the were overloads quite often. Any...

Nikon 4.5x14 buckmaster on 7mm rem mag

Thank you, Mac. Another thing I found out I should consider is the fact I changed the synthetic stock to a walnut boyds. My gunsmith did not glass bed the stock. One thought was it could very well be my problem. My gunsmith did not see the need for glass bedding, but it's got me wondering. I...

Nikon 4.5x14 buckmaster on 7mm rem mag

Anyone have any experience with Nikon buckmaster scopes? I have one on a Weatherby Vanguard 7mm rem mag with a walnut stock. I have Nikon Monarch on my savage 210f 12 gauge and had no trouble sighting it in. It's dead on for years. With the 7mm it is constantly changing. Is that too much...

weatherby vanguard series 2 range certified

I am going to take that advice. I will change the stock and have the gunsmith tune the trigger. Go from there. Thanks.

That's amazing! The question I still have is, do I trade/sell the Weatherby S1 and trade it for an S2? Or, just do the trigger and stock on the model just ahead of the S2.

I have what I call a Weatherby S1 or the one preceding the S2. I'm debating on whether to sell it and get the S2 or have a stock & trigger job done to the S1. Any opinions on the S2's stock. Outdoor Life made it their editors choice, and said they didn't cheap on anything.

Thanks a lot! I wanted to see one with the stock. That's the way I am going to go with my Vanguard.

I think I'll check out youtube first and save myself some money. Thank you for the advice. With all the input on Timney, it's going on the Savage.

I'd love to shoot a Vanguard S2. I went to Gander with the S1 and was told it was worth about $150. I know that's whole sale, but.... Can't part with it for that. It's in excellent condition. I figured that because I saw Cabelas had S1s on clearance for $349. Looks like I'll have a trigger job...

Mine is in a 7mm Rem mag. I just don't like the balance, when I compare it to the Savage rifles I have. I noticed that after the first shot. If it's on a bench rest, no problem. It shoots lights out. I just want it to feel balanced and not wobble when I try to fire it long range without a rest...

How did you find us here at LRH.com?

I found you while searching for long range hunting sites. I was especially interested in info relating to building a custom long range gun. I have a Stevens 200 .270 and a Series 1 Weatherby Vanguard in the 7mm rem mag. Trying to customize them both, with the thought of keeping costs low without...

I have a Series 1 that's about years old. How does the S1 compare to the S2? Thought about trading or selling the S1 but doesn't have much value. Thinking of putting on a different stock. Any suggestions with an S1?
