Is the 308 a good long range hunting rifle?? Iam looking for a deer and maybe elk caliber that is good for 500 to 700 yards?? And something I can buy lots of ammo for chaeply for just long range out to 1000 yard targets.

Would the weatherby Vanguard s2 in 7mm make a good long range rifle out to 600 to 700 yards?? It is a sub-moa so is very accurate. Thanks Dave

Wow I think shooting deer like this is a waste. That is the problem with most people who own property they complain about all the deer but won't let anyone hunt there property. There just a bunch of dorks. I just don't understand, if they are afraid to have the average hunter on there property...
