    Savage 10 FCP-K need optic...

I've had good luck with the older model Super Snipers.

    Sub $1000 scope?

I'd go either Vortex Viper PST or Sightron SIII. Haven't owned a Vortex yet as they are still pretty new (especially their new scopes, will probably hold off on one of those until they have proven themselves...regardless of warranty). Will probably own one some day though as they have seemed...

    Muzzle Brake

Do you plan on hunting with ear pro? If not, you could always get a brake and have a thread protector cut for your barrel to facilitate having a brake that you could use for shooting, and take off for hunting. Only brake that I have is an APA Little Bastard, it works great, but is LOUD.

    260 Remington Cartridge

I just got my barreled action back from the plumber after having a new .260 tube screwed on. The rifle was originally a 5R in .308 and shot very well. I went to a .260 after a lot of inner debate on what I really wanted in a long-range target caliber. I liked the barrel life and...

    First rifle : H-S Precision Pro Series M24 ??

The only stocks that H-S Precision makes for a Savage that I'm aware of is the PST101/PST114. This is not the M24 type if you are referring to the U.S. Army sniper rifle. It is the same type of stock that comes on the factory Savage 10 with H-S stock. For a bit over $400, you are well on...

    SOLD/EXPIRED Two Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50mm F/S

Both are SPF at this time. Sorry but for some reason I can't figure out how to edit the post title.

    HS Precision Stock?

Not trying to get booed here, but have you ever thought of a wooden dowel and sandpaper? Would take a bit, but sure wouldn't cost much.

    223 target rifle ?

The Savage LRPV is a great idea as mentioned above. I own an SPS Tactical like the one you said you liked. I never shot it with the Hogue stock, but it averages .543 for the load that it likes best with 69gr SMKs. That load has more than enough behind it to get it well past 600yds. After...

Used one is SPF. NIB one is still for sale.

    Bushnell Elite 6500

Personally I'd be hesitant to put a 20-30MOA base on a scope with only 50MOA of elevation built into it. Depending on how much adjusting it took to get zeroed, you might have a hard time getting the crosshairs to the bullet at closer ranges. If one was just shooting at extended ranges...

    Savage 223 1x9 twist

Some barrels will shoot the heavies better than others, although you still need to push them hard. my 1:9 SPS Tactical will not shoot the 75gr A-Maxes better than 1.5MOA, however, it averages just over half MOA with the 69gr Matchkings.

Which Barrel on Rifle Build...also caliber?

Most aftermarket barrels are pretty accurate, more so than the individual operating the rifle. Any of the ones you listed should be good to go. I'm going with a Broughton 5C on my .260 build.

    First long range hunting rig

Hard to go wrong with a Sendero for starting out. I've become more of a fan of higher-powered scopes for trying to get every last little bit of accuracy out while the rifle is on a bench. For field use a scope with 10x is usually more than adequate. To shoot for groups (load development) I...

    SOLD/EXPIRED Two Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50mm F/S

SPF Both have the M1 turrets and TMR reticles. One is completely NIB, still in the plastic wrap, the other has seen 260 rounds of .223 in three trips to the range, and is virtually new. SPF shipped for the NIB one SPF shipped for the slightly used one. Here is a pic of the one that...
