    6mm/220 swift?

The Bear’s 6mm Super LR Varminter within AccurateShooter.com Read about this little gem. Fast, accurate, good throat life, prefers domestic brass and that's not all. If you want a 6mm feline this is a good one

    6.5 X284 vs 300 ultra

The IBS 5 shot is under 1.4" and it was shot with a .30 wildcat off a shortened 338 lapua case. If you load the 240 smk in the 300 ultra you have a better ballistic profile than the 6.5. Being able to tickle that trigger is where the little guns shine. Has less to do with the capability of the...

    Weaver Tactical Grand Slam ?

You should still get either the Burris rings or an angled base. The reason would be to be get the reticle below the center of travel at your zero. This way when you adjust for your come-ups your glass will be more or less square reducing the light's path through the scope. This can mean better...

    First Rifle Ever!

Nikon makes a very nice scope under $500. I have 5 Dad has 5 and my brother has 1. ( he only has one rifle too) I read good things Sightron. (sp) but have not seen or used one. Same for the Burris. Haven't bought a Leopold since 91 when I bought my first Nikon. None that I've owned have had a...

If your close to Ft Benning join there rifle club. They don't advertise long range training but I'm sure some of the cadre of the sniper school are members. They may have some leads. John Whidden of Whidden gunworks is from Ga Whidden Gunworks Ask at your local gunsmith if neither of these two...

anybody ever attended a schhoting school

You pay for your education no matter what the field of learning. If you go to a "cheap" school you will get a "cheap" education. I took a course on shooting a shotgun for sporting clays. The instructor was a former world record holder in sporting clays. I won 2 state championships after that. I...

    300 rum???

Look at the Savage in 300 wsm or 300 win mag. I'd look for a used version then upgrade the barrel to a shilen if it didn't shoot. Best to find the accutrigger but SSS makes a good triger for them as well. I would choose the regular 300 win mag myself. If the big boatails don't shoot in that case...

    300 win mag yote bullet

Midway has 150gn FMJ .30 bullets. I've used surplus ammo in an 06 sometimes you have a tracking job and shoulder shots make a mess but for the most part they do the job. Those bullets btw were .30 ball and I cannot read the rest of the can to give you a lot#. LC brass is all I can remember

Factory 308 cartridge for white tail

The lightweight 125's and 130's would work well if that was your max range. They do kill really well from the 308. I wouldn't go heavier than 165 and 150 is usually the bullet I load when I do grab the 308. My dad though loves the 125s from both serria and the nosler bt. He use to use the...

    twist rate help

A tighter than optimum twist will hinder your ability to get your highest velocities. Too tight a twist will cause bullet blow ups in ultra high velocity rounds (not going to be an issue here) A good thing is the extra RPM of the bullet will cause a more dramatic effect on a tissue target
