    RRA National Match

As previously stated, I am not a first class shot or anywhere near being one. I do appreciate the advice I have received, I do need to sharpen my shooting skills. Going to the range more often would probably help. If I decide to improve the accuracy of the AR I buy I will definitely be asking...

    RRA National Match

Will buy an AR in next 2 weeks, I am going to check the local gun shops for available AR 15's and the gun range for shooters of the AR 15, will not be dragging this out. I will probably buy a complete AR and later on add some options as I become accustomed to it. Will still be asking questions...

    RRA National Match

Appreciate your input, I did not state the 1 of 3, DZelenka made that observation. I have never had an AR made for civilians, my experience with the military model was less than steller and I have been hesitant to purchase one. My knowledge of the AR would not fill a thimble and what I do not...

    RRA National Match

Thanks for the replies, the money is not a problem. I do not intend to shoot competition with the AR, I will do some bench shooting but not in a competitive match. I want the AR for hunting, plinking and a "go to" if the need arises. I am not a top notch shooter but want an AR that will perform...

    RRA National Match

I am looking at a Rock River National Match with 20" bull barrel, does anyone here have one or know how well they hold up? Is the NM trigger any good?

    Ar15

The 223 is a less expensive round than a 308, if you want a 308 look at the M14. If you want the AR15 get one chambered for 5.56 NATO round. Buy an entry level AR15 and fix it up the way you want it. Rock River, Stag, DPMS are good weapons, Bushmaster has issues, Century Arms are misc. parts...

Do you plan to buy a new custom rifle?

Will buy or build a new custom rifle soon, after the disaster with the Remington .308 I am firmly convinced a custom rifle is the only way to fly.gun)lightbulb

Spot and stalk, I do not see any sport in a feeder, deer blind and sunrise. Spotting and stalking heightens your skills and sharpens your abilities.

Making A Case For The 308 Winchester By Michael Eichelle

I have been considering purchasing a .338, I had one years ago, I am not the premier shot by any means, however, the results I have obtained at the range with the 308 are not impressive. My son-in-law likes the 308 and I can give it to him minus the scope. I appreciate your candor and fast reply.

Making A Case For The 308 Winchester By Michael Eichelle

The first one had bad riflings, apparently it was a refect that slipped by quality control, it took about 6 months to get another rifle. I refused to let them change just the barrel. Remington finally agreed. I want the 500 yard for deer and elk, I have never had a 308 until I bought the first...

Making A Case For The 308 Winchester By Michael Eichelle

I have become the owner of a Remington 673 in 308, new, only fired at factory, this is the second one I have owned in the last 6 months, the first one was a disaster. It has a 22" barrel, what can I do make it a decent 500 yard gun?

How Many Centerfire Rounds Do You Fire Per Year?

I bought a Russian rifle that shoots cheap ammo. If I like the way it shoots I will be shooting more than 500 rounds a year. The rifle has not arrived yet, should be here within a couple of days.

How Many Centerfire Rounds Do You Fire Per Year?

I shoot about 500 rounds a year, I am far from being the best shot here. The 500 does not count pistol rounds.
