This. Get professional advice and assistance. Don`t know if 13 acres is too small ( State forestry will tell you ), but a controlled burn is one of the very best things you can do for a piece of ground when it comes to wildlife.
You people!!....You don`t need sprays!!......You don`t need guns!!!...... You just need to be their bestest buddy!! Just ask Timothy Treadwell ( AKA " The Grizzly Man" )! Oh....Wait.
You don`t have to " ban " anything.... just starve them to death along with making purchasing and owing a firearm such a colossal PITA that eventually more and more people ( at least the law abiding ones ) will give up and say, " To hell with it. Not worth the trouble. "
I`m pretty sure that if the ONLY choice I had to hunt was public land, that`d be it for my hunting career. Too many fools make some of that ground almost into combat zones. And what is it anyway about hunting on public land that apparently turns WAY too many people into the north end of a south...
All things considered, especially the fact that I shoot factory loads, should my club range go to 1K from 500, my 1K rifle will in all likelihood be 6.5 CM. Love my Savage .223, however, and would keep it to shoot at small gongs to about 600 or so.
Congrats!! I doubt very seriously that I`ll ever get the opportunity ( or probably the equipment! ), but a question of curiosity for the board. What does everyone think is the least/smallest caliber that one could/should shoot to make a mile and have a good chance for consistency? Thanks.
