Lapping depends completely on the skill of the person doing it. I do not recommend any lapping outside of lightly lapping threads after single point threading the barrel unless you are fitting slides on a pistol. For an accurate build it needs to be done on a lathe.

Yes there is always this problem. There are two routes that I would recommend. 1) cycle your bolt until it smooths out....the wife might get a little annoyed while your cycling during her chick flick. 2) mask off the lugs, lightly blast the cerakote off and then apply NIC's superslick...
