7mm-08 the forgotten 6.5 Creed Killer?

I'm late to the party on this thread and I don't have a dog in this fight, but maybe the reason 6.5 creedmoor is still gaining steam is that ammo is pretty easy to find (for us un-initiated who don't roll our own). Personally, depending on where I'm hunting, I'll use my .45-70 in dense...

    Please school me on breaks

I second the Area 419 Hellfire. I put one on my Alamo Precision 300 win mag and it tamed it down a bunch. It is loud as heck though shooting at my gun range (covered benches with an aluminum roof).

    Montana x-bows illegal

Lotsa fired up people here. I hunt with a vertical bow, crossbow and rifle and wish everyone one success in their respective seasons (I've had 2 shoulder reconstructions and still enjoy using my vertical bow albeit with less poundage that I used to). Hunt what ya' can, when ya' can and as...

    Europtics? - PA

I've purchased a few rifles and several optics from them. Super good guys. I've made the drive to their showroom when I bought my rifle and it was well worth the drive (I live on the other side of the state). They have closeout specials all the time and their demo sales are hard to beat.

    Side Arm for Grizzly Country

I hardly ever see black bear where I hunt (especially during bear season haha) and they always scatter like greased lighting when I do. I totally didn't expect an encounter like that. I hunt Southern Pennsylvania near the PA, MD and WVa borders (Fayette and Somerset counties)

    Side Arm for Grizzly Country

Unfortunately we no longer live in Grizz country (U of M class of 98), but we get back to Montana often. My wife still has family in Kalispell and we hike Glacier and the Bob often. Last year I had 2 bear encounters - my group came within 10 yards of grizzly while hiking Grinnell Trail. It...

Muzzle brakes? 6.5 mm favorites and oversized performance.

I'm new to the world of muzzle breaks, but I have an Area 419 Hellfire on my 300 WM and to me the recoil is super soft. Way lighter than my unbraked .45-70's and 30-06's. My buddy said it reminded him of a .243, but I've never shot one so I can't verify his statement. Since having this muzzle...

Which rifle, to get. Christensen, kimber Montana, bergara premier highlander

Really depends on how you configure your rifle. They also have a small selection of ready to ship rifles that rotate all the time. I bought my 300 Win Mag from them last year when I was down in Dallas for work. All the guys were super friendly and since I was in from out of town they took me...

New Sig Cross Chassis Based 6.5lb Rifle

If these have a sub MOA guarantee, they'll be an interesting option vs. the Christensen MPR. I was going to pick up a MPR next year, but now I'll have a decision to make.

    Don't be a poacher.

WOW - What a tank! Where I hunt, the mountain buck are teeny tiny compared to this brute.

    My Daughter Kills a Brute

WOW - What a tank!!! Congrats!

6.5 PRC Christensen arms custom rifle & vortex pst 6-24x50 FFP Moa package *Hunt Ready*

Gorgeous rifle - If I hadn't just bought a custom 300 Win Mag, I'd be all over this.

    Moose Hunt

Man - that's a tough situation. I've only done guided archery and the guide had strict limits on range that I knew ahead of time (even though I regularly practice farther than that). I knew his standards ahead of time and still booked. It was an awesome experience even though, like you, I did...
