Your going your hunt of a lifetome what are you hunting and what rifle are you using ? Mine is easy

I'll be hunting with Spey Creek Trophy Hunting. Bought the hunt last year at one of the Dallas Safari Club's fundraisers. Owner is John McBride. He went there to hunt and liked it so much he bought it and now he has dual citizenship. He and his wife and son Wyatt run it.

A polar bear would a bit tricky. You pretty much have to jump thru hoops to be able to shoot one. Not sure the particulars. But definitely a tough hunt. I said in a previous post to hunt Africa last, but just make sure that you go because it will absolutely capture your soul. Every hunter...

Your going your hunt of a lifetome what are you hunting and what rifle are you using ? Mine is easy

One of my dream hunts is about to take place. I leave for New Zealand next week for a Red Stag hunt near Kaikoura. I'll turn 75 while there and hope to take him on my birthday. I'll be shooting one of their rifles because New Zealand is a royal pain in the butt for bringing in "your" rifle...

    Neck tension

Thanks for the response Brent.. I’m still unsure how to use the mandrel.. Looks like I need to take the expander ball out of my sizing die, then choose a neck bushing .003 less than the loaded round when sizing the case, and then use an expanding mandrel .002 less than the loaded round. I have...

    Neck tension

Okay Brent, others. Would you please explain the proper use of a mandrel. I am using a Redding die with the proper bushing to neck size .002 less than the loaded round neck size. So, if using a mandrel after sizing isn't that expanding the neck that you just resized? Are the mandrels not...

Revic BLR 10b vs Sig Kilo 10k

Thanks guys for all your input on these binos. I am looking to replace my Leica 10x42s soon. Leaning toward the Leica10x32 pros with Applied Ballistics because that is what I have in my Kestrel. My question is when comparing binos why is only performance is considered. No one mentions the...

    Nosler Accubond

Great bullet.. The regular Accubond is probably better out to 400 yards because of a thicker jacket, but then the long range version is better. Only bullet I trust when hunting Africa, because losing an animal there is expensive...

Is there such thing as a Easy sheep Hunt

Took me 2 trips to Alaska and 22 hard days to get my Dall. Worth every ache & pain that it took to get him. Means a whole lot more to know that you earned him. You wouldn't want it to be easy on such a majestic animal.

What is the one piece of hunting/shooting advice you would give yourself if you could go back in time

I agree also. I ask a friend who is a biologist and an avid, experienced hunter who has hunted all over the world what it takes to be calm, collected and confident when shooting an animal. He said you need to shoot a lot of animals, 200-300, in all different kinds of scenarios before you can...

What is the one piece of hunting/shooting advice you would give yourself if you could go back in time

I agree wholeheartedly on buying real estate. Especially in a growth area. I had my own construction company and worked my *** off. Now I am retired and selling of parcels of real estate that I bought while working. Making more money than I did when I was working 6 days a week and one hell...

What is the one piece of hunting/shooting advice you would give yourself if you could go back in time

I am familiar with that scenario. We had a guy on our deer lease the same way. Thought for a while he just didn't want to clean them, but it was for real. Hang in there.

What is the one piece of hunting/shooting advice you would give yourself if you could go back in time

You are dead on. Don't wait till you are in your late 60's early 70's to do your difficult hunts. Unfortunately, most of us can't afford them when young. On my recent Mountain Goat hunt in Alaska I was 74. The other two hunters were 28 and 32 yrs old. They looked at me and said "What the...

    Porcupine down

I moved to the Texas Hill Country 3 yrs ago.. Had never seen one before that. Now they are coming to my deer feeders. I left them alone until they started coming up to the house. We have 3 Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs. So I am not gonna take that chance. I've declared war! 4 down and 3 to go...
