Hey everyone I've got a 2 part question. I'am looking at the Remington model 700 xcr ii in the 300 ultramag caliber, I would like to buy it for hunting mostly elk at ranges from 100 yards out to 800 yards and beyond with practice. Is this a good choice? I don't want to put a muzzle brake on it but would like to know what the recoil is like, before purchase, I have been shooting a Mossberg 30.06 180 grain that has a kick to it.. and has anyone heard, seen, or used the Hi-Lux optics from Leatherwood, I'am looking at the 6-24x50 Camputer ART 1200, any honest feedback would be much appreciated!!!
