hey guys i know the 7mm ultra mag isnt a very popular item on here and i havent ever really been interested in getting one but i ran across a deal on a new 700 xcr stainless that was too good to pass up so i got it.
i was planning on using 140 - 150 grain bullets in the barnes tsx, nos...
yea i dont mind the weight because its already got an A-5 stock on it so its on the heavy side already. i had best luck with the retumbo as well with the 130 vlds. thanks for the info i appreciate it. im gonna go ahead and go with the 1-8
i feel sorta dumb now! for some reason i was thining my stoc barrel was a 1-10 twist but it is a 1-9 so it would mae since to go to a 1-8 for the heavier bullet wouldnt it? i really wanted to get irby to turn it into a 6.5 allen mag but the funds are a little tight these days so i figured id...
its time for a new barrel on my 264 sendero. I want to shoot the 140 vlds and 140 smk. i was leaning on getting a 30 in lilja with a 1-9 twist. does anybody have any suggestions or is this a good set up? thanks gun)
i just bought a 700 VSF 221 fireball with the 22in barrel. I picked up a lb of little gun and AA no. 7. These were the only two powders my local store had that i saw was used for this cartridge. I also picked up a box of barnes varmit grenades in the 36 grain. I was wondering if there was anyone...
i would try Retumbo, H1000 or H50BMG. all of these powders shot great in my .30-378 accumark. I was using the 210 bergers. I know yours is a 338-378 but i tried 7828 in mine and it did not like that powder at all. Just a suggestion
thanks guys
B23 - its 60% dark grey 20% light grey and 20% black
i cant find my cord for my camera but once i get it i will put some larger ones on there. those just came from my cell phone.
After 9 months i finnally picked her up today. got her broke in and she shot great! i was a little worried about the millet scope holding its zero but it did fine. after zeroing it in at 100yds and then going out to 600 ad adjusting the scope and then bringing it back to a 100 she was right on...
mark308 - get some reloader 22 and start out with 53 grains and work up slowly from there. i was shooting mine today and trying some 110 accubonds and the best group i got was a little under a half inch at 150yds and that was with 55.5 grains of powder with CCI 250 primers and the col was 3.198...
yea your right i think i am going to get a box and see how they do in my gun. i really want to find a high BC bullet in the 225 - 250 range that shoots great and has devistating results on the game. I dont eat the shoulders on the animal so I am not worried about the bullet retaining most of its...
yea i would love to get my hands on some berger 250s with a BC that high. im sure it will be quite some time though.
Topshot - where did you purchasethse 250 HPBT bullets or did you by the factory ammo from Hornady?
man i didnt know berger was coming up with a 250 gr in the 338! i wonder how long that will be? there was talk for the 300gr forever it seemed like before people started getting their hands on them
