I may have been lucky enough to get a decent one. I have fired probably close to two hundred rounds through it, usually shooting fifty or more rounds during a trip to the range. Military, factory, and some reloads I had made for my Garand. All functioned fine with no serious problems. Five shot...
Mounted on a rifle, but the rifle was never taken out and fired. The scope is in like new condition, and a Nightforce sun shade that I purchased separately is included with this package. The box, manual, and all original equipment that came with this scope are included. I will wrap and pack the...
The brass from rounds I have fired through the rifle so far appears to be in good shape, so standard M2 Ball ammo and the factory rounds (Federal, Hornady, and Winchester) I have used functioned well with no apparent damage.
Thank you for your detailed approach. I have some factory ammunition I can fire through the rifle. I also have an older Lyman reloading manual which lists factory duplication loads for some bullet weight and powder type combinations. The closest powder listed in that manual to what I have on...
The Noreen BN36 does have an adjustable gas block. I adjusted it for the 150gr military ammo I fired through it. I have not found any reloading references on Noreen's website, so perhaps a phone call will yeild some references. They have been helpful in the past.
That appears to be the concensus. The one reference I found was someone working up loads in a Remington 742 semi auto rifle. He was loading 180 gr bullets with Reloader 22 and he began to notice signs of stress at 58.5 grains. I believe I will start a full 10 percent below the listed maximum...
Thank you for your suggestion. I have a pound of IMR 4064 that I could use in this process as well. I have added the pdf you linked to my reloading files.
Thank you for your suggestion. Forgive my ignorance, but what are small base dies? I have been using RCBS full length resizing dies for 30-06. The dies are forty years old. Also, what is a LEE FCD?
Thank you for the suggestion regarding the use of tougher thicker brass to work up loads with. I have plenty of once fired military brass. I will start with those.
I have a Noreen BN36 AR style gas operated 30-06 rifle. I have a supply of Sierra Match King bullets in 168 gr and 190 gr. and I have AA 4350 powder, Reloader 22, and a few pounds of Vitavuori N160. I will be using Winchester LR primers and Brass. I have searched through reloading data on the...
Agreed. If the scope adjustment is one tenth mRad per click, then each click will move the point of impact 0.2268 inches. Divide 2.75 inches by 0.2268 inches and the result will be to raise the point of impact by twelve clicks.
