Thanks for the link. My measured cases have a diameter of .538 at the shoulder/body intersection and .547 at the base. Looks like the 300 RSAUM is the best match at .547 at the shoulder/body joint and .550 at the base. 300WSM was slightly smaller and and the PRC's a good bit smaller.
Doing load development for a buddy's new 25 SST Sherman. Have run 100 through with lighter loads after necking down the 6.5 SST brass. After bumping the shoulders back I'm now at the trim length. Just dawned on me I don't have a wilson case holder anywhere near that diameter to use my case...
130 accubonds or hornady interlocks. I’d prefer a slightly tuffer bullet at that range to hold together and make it out the other side. Love when they drop right there but a blood trail is sure nice when tracking them a short distance in thick woods.
Was building a box blind for deer near the end of turkey season and cutting lumber with a battery circular saw in mid afternoon. Had birds firing off in three directions with every cut. Had been absolutely quiet in the woods for several days prior to it.
RL-16 has been my go to in both my 6.5 CM paper punchers. Both shooting 140 ELDM's. Shot very well in a 6 CM I had too with 88 HH's. Its temp stability is a plus for summer shooting here in FL. I've had mostly better results than with RL-17. I did try it in my 6.5-06 and couldn't find a load...
I purchased a .45 cal LRX about 18 months back. Started out with the powerbelt ELR’s. Best I could achieve was about a 3” inch group at 100. Tried saboted bullets, the same. tried sized to bore Fury’s with same results. Using BH209. Bore was overbore and felt rough. Forearm piece was off center...
A lot to like about so many! For many years it was the 270 win with 130 SGK's. Was a long happy streak that I may circle back to some day. Last couple years its been a 6.5 Sherman and a 6.5-06. The Sherman is shooting 124 HH's and the 6.5-06 110 HH's. Both seem to fit the nitch and check all the...
25-06 in a new Rem M700 Sendero SFII was the most finicky. .75 - 1.5" with every thing. 110 NAB's were the .75". Least finicky was the same 25-06 with a 26" 1 in 10 Brux barrel. Eats anything I've run through it under .5". Have a 7 RM that's been a challenge, but finally got good results with...
My buddy’s son has been shooting the 110 accubonds in his 25WSSM with great results for a few years now. Most the deer have dropped in their tracks. The rest don’t go far. Years ago I had the same results with them in my 25-06.
I also shot alot of Sierra 117gr Pro Hunters in 25-06 back then...
