    What caliber?

I have taken Cows with a 243 adn 100gn PT. I've taken Bulls with 270 up to 338. If you have a cow tag and they are relaxed and close then 243 w/100gn. If you are hunting Bulls then 270 w/150gn. I prefer 30 cal and at least 180gn.

    6.5 Creedmoor for Cow Elk

As one of the guys that live out west (Idaho), Yes most of the guns I see used for Elk are the same as the deer rifles, 243W up to 30 cals. 260 Rem from my 12y son at the time was bang - flop on a 6pt Bull. I will say this - There are 2 kinds of ELK.... BIG Bulls and then the rest. When I...

Besides BEST Quality, THIS is Why I Buy Swarovski;)

Excellent Service !! Glad to hear it. I've ventured into the Swaro Z5 scopes recently - purchased two, one for my Elk Rifle. I was so impressed I purchased its twin for my Deer Rifle.

Vortex HST 4-16X I'd like to here from owners/ users.

I own 4 of the 4x16 HSLR - (Not exposed windage turret) is only difference. I have used them from Varmintsto Big Game and shot out to 700 yds on paper / steel. I have had no issues with return to zero and being repeatable for my shooting. I do own a couple of PST for longer range and dialing...

    7mm-08 vs. .338 Federal

I've got a 338 Federal in a Sako 85 and it is one of my favorite guns to carry. On Whitetail it is just "Bang - Flop" the deer have not taken even one step. Velocity is where the 200gn and 338 frontal nose just do the trick. Numbers just don't always indicate performance on game.

    Sierra Infinity 6

I have ver 5 and plugged in 10,000 yds and it stopped at 7,200 yds stating that "Your bullet/velocity combination is inconsistent with your maximum range." BTW I is used a .308 cal, 200gn Accubond at 3200fps and sighted in at 100yds. At 7,200 yds that would be 148,173.62 inches of drop...

300 Ultra and 200 Accubond Results

+1 on ATH's method. I just shot and "broke in" my new Sendero 300RUM and it's first groups were shot 3-4 min between shots. First three went into the same hole and I "choked" on the 4th one and pulled it, about 1/2 low. Trying to recreate the exact environment is part of being as...
