SOLD Berger VLD Hunting 6.5 (.264) 140 Grain Bullets

That would cost me $350+ here in Australia , that's f I could get Berger 140gr hunting VLD that is. The stores here all seem to have all the other brands in 6.5. But no Bergers and when the come in the sell out in a day.

    Youth - 260 Rem or 25.06??

No, but just as accurate due to there great barrels and the unique screw in barrel with thread -in headspacing ,lock nut and how it fits into the receiver so well. The Axis for the money is great entry level rifle and the Axis 2 was a big improvement ,so I hope they bring out a Axis 3.

    Youth - 260 Rem or 25.06??

You are spot on about the Savage Axis ,it has a 'similar' looking type of action to the model 10 but that's about where it ends and the barrels are very much the same screw and lock nuts type. I have had Axis XP camo since 2009 and burnt the .243 barrel out and I always had the intention to...

    Youth - 260 Rem or 25.06??

.260rem. I shoot .260 for range and hunting here in Australia, have for years and swear by it. For large varmint like hares, Kangaroo's, wallabies and fox , also medium-sized game like dogs, goats, smaller deer and pigs(hogs). Sadly in Australia some states have calibre bullet size laws for...

Why i like my 260 rem so much now that there is no ammo over the 6.5 cm

I too just love the .260rem. It has a fps up on the 6.5 and is so easy to get .260rem cases or what i do is resize .243w up. Had a tikka Super Varmint .260rem in 2013 to 2017 and then sold it and rebarred my Savage 243w to .260rem which is now my go to hunting rifle. Chrees Chris

    Why the 6.5 caliber?

I can understand why 6.5 cals are so popular , but not the CM. The 6.5 cals have been around for a long time in Europe for hunting and in 2 world wars. But there are so many 6.5 cals that perform better than the CM, Like my Fav the .260rem also 6.5-284 Norma, 6.5-300 and 6.5x 47 too. Here in...

6.5 long action hunting rifle opinions

Here in Australia I've been hunting with 6.5 cals since early 90's . And I know the .260rem cant match the 6.5x284 for verlocity , but on a good day it can out shoot all comers . I use 140gr Bergers , VV550n or Adi ar2208 powders and Lapua brass for around 2780 to 2855 fps . On big hogs and dogs...
