Thanks to some constructive feedback, there's a few points I need to review.
As a heads up to everybody, a poster did pick up on where I failed to put in the "meter" distances for a chart I had made. It posts distances in 100 yard increments and then follows up with 1 mil size in inches and...
We have recently put together a guide on understanding Mil-Dot
(you can find it here https://www.targettamers.com/guides/mil-dot-explained/)
We have tried to make it as easy to understand as possible. With that said, eyes got blurry, mind fuzzy, and some things may have been missed. Our...
Did check out the website. It is unfortunate that there are many loose ends they haven't tied up on the new site. They used to be really good about posting exact specs, and now that info is missing. But, I do have to say I like their new reticle simulator. The Forge scopes are new and they...
So, even the Leupold and Sig are brand new, and you can get them for around sub$300! That's a pretty awesome deal.
To narrow things down even further:
Sig:
heard they have a good warranty, I think it's lifetime on the electronics which is important for a lrf, or at least a minimum of 5...
I like Sig. They're pretty darn on accurate imo, but I think their reticle turns out to be a little bigger than Leica's one when you're ranging out long distances making it a little harder for positive target acquisition.
Almost got the Leupold RX2800 tbr, but that will have to wait until...
The G2 reticle looks pretty good, and as far as obscuring your sight picture, it doesn't look like that will be a problem. Although it's in the FFP, it's a shame this model doesn't have an illuminated reticle - that could be really useful if you're hunting.
Here's a link to their reticle...
This scope does come with flip up caps. You can also purchase a large scope cover from Burris to fit this as well. But, I think you'll need #46 for the objectives and #10 for the eyepiece. Hope this helps.
Dang, that's kind of awful to hear about your Zeiss RF having illumination issues. It has a self-illuminating display that's supposed to automatically adjust with ambient light settings, correct? I've heard that some either love the Victory RF or hate it. On paper, it looks like a great...
Tend to agree with others. Just got back from a cow hunt where I took some excellent 10x42 binos and a cheap spotter. When I pulled out the spotter, it almost wasn't worth it. Couldn't get that sharp definition I needed. My 10x42s ended up outperforming my spotter. Left it behind on the...
35? Whoo! Did Sightmark throw in the rings for free? It's always a good feeling when you're happy with what you've bought. My biggest tube is a 30 mm and I'm stoked with that. Gets me out farther than I need for my style of hunting. You'll have to post some of your long range pics once...
Whoo whee! I wouldn't mind owning one of those. It's unfortunate though that the eyepiece broke at all, let alone on opening day of antelope season. Hope you had something else to to get you through that and didn't go without. But, really glad that their customer service is still up to par...
Can't skimp on glass quality. Just used a cheap spotting scope up to 45x in a hunt and ended up leaving it behind because I just couldn't see through it clear enough at long distances to determine between a log or a cow. Ended up sticking with my 10x42 binoculars with excellent glass and...
Awesome! Sounds just like what I did.. sort of. Just got back from a cow hunt. Excellent, cloudy weather - was perfect. Terrain went from high ridges to thick timber in some points. Fog inhibited the hunt for quite a while. I took a lightweight, compact 15-45x60 spotting scope (sometimes...
