I've been using the Brownell's Latigo sling for many years and will use nothing else. They adjust super easy for carrying or shooting. The problem with a sling that is too wide is that they sometimes want to slip off your shoulder.

Have you had the chamber opened to 2 3/4 inches. Most of those older 16s had a 2 9/16 chamber and it can cause some real pressure spikes if you shoot a longer shell in it.
