Looking for a non range place to shoot near Fairbanks, AK!

I can't believe that with 176 views nobody can tell me of a safe place to shoot without going to a range? In Oregon there are dozens around almost every town! There has to be somewhere to shoot around Fairbanks. I don't expect it to be 5 min away though.

Looking for a non range place to shoot near Fairbanks, AK!

I just moved up from Oregon to Fairbanks and I'm looking for a place to shoot. I would like to shoot somewhere other than a gun range. At least 100yds but the further the better. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks Nathan

Just shot first coyote in Oregon with .22LR

Yep, this one I got square in the chest him facing me, dropped like a rock:) I was even using cheap Federal 40gr non hollow point ammo. I generally use the CCI Velocitors, but never shot anything with them, so who knows? And yes my wife is awesome, I don't think there's anything she...

Just shot first coyote in Oregon with .22LR

So I've been trying to bag a Coyote for about 6years now. They are very smart where I live and won't come to calls for anything! We live outside of town about 4 miles right next to a Nursery. I hear them all the time around us but they never get to close because I have 4 Siberian Huskies which...

    600yd DPMS Arctic Panther Ar15???

Hey guys, I was thinking about buying my first AR15. What I'm looking for is a midrange semi-auto target and coyote system. I would like to be able to shoot out to 600yds with at least MOA accuracy. Do you think this system is capable of this? Thanks Nathan, Arctic Panther™...

    22LR Max Distance Fun

I don't know, I have a off the shelf savage .22lr semi-auto, that I shot cheap fed 40gr bullets at 360yds. I was aiming at a 6x10inch steel plate that was sitting on top of 2 cinder blocks, I was able to hit the plate half of the time and hit the cinder blocks a few times too. 3 of the bullets...

Building a 300wsm long range rifle?

Thanks for your responses. I plan to use this rifle for target use at long ranges, but some hunting will be required of it also. I'd say 75% Paper, 25% Game. Whatever stock I use, I would like it to be usable out in the field, but I don't expect this to be super light though. I'm planing on...

Good cheap scope for long range 22. Mag

I would say a good scope would be a bsa tactical scope with mill-dots, or if you can afford it a Bushnell elite 10x40 which has a lot of adjustment. You should post a picture of your new rig. Nathan,

Building a 300wsm long range rifle?

Hey, I have a Savage Model 16 chambered in 300wsm that I would like to have built into a long range rig. I was planing on buying a high grade barrel and stock and have it all put together bedded etc... buy a good gunsmith. My hopes are to be very accurate at 1000yds and have capabilities for...

    New to LRH

Welcome to LRH! You will meet many knowledgeable, and helpful people on this site. I have a regular Rem 710 chambered in .270win with a Buckmaster 6-18x40 scope which I just love, I have gotten 1.5inch groups at 515yds, plus hits on milk jugs out to 700+yds all with off the shelf Hornady Light...

    Marlin 925M .22WMR Sniper Rifle!

Thanks for the responses guys. Still if there is anyone with the .22mag caliber that has done some long range work let me know! Thanks Nathan, ps. What would be a good way to get an aftermarket trigger for this gun, since I doubt I can just buy one for it. Do I just need to take it to a gun...

    Marlin 925M .22WMR Sniper Rifle!

So we might be able to get hits out to 500yds maybe? That would be cool, my brother is a crack shot, and out shoots his big brother sometimes too! So with this gun having a wood stock, bedding the action and barrel would be better than free floating the barrel right? I have never had a...
