    What’s your spookiest hunting experience?

Hunting the Ten Sleep, Wy area on the Mountain above Deer Haven. We were all aware that the Air Force used the Ten Sleep Canyon for terrain following radar practice runs. When they come out of the Canyon, if you get the chance to see them coming, they are actually at a lower elevation and when...

    Looking to purchase a LabRadar

Evaluating Chronographs for load workup. I have decided to purchase a LabRadar when they are available. I contacted the company to get a sample data set. The amount of data collected can be voluminous. The key pieces of information for load development are the Velocity String and then the...

    Seating depth test

It appears that you may have 2 nodes to work with. The 0.023 and 0.026 require further investigation. If this length fits and chambers properly from your clip or magazine I would not worry about the 0.030.

new barrel. have you ever seen this

My favorite Elk gun (.25 MOA), with a new batch of reloads (Same Formula), shot 1.0 MOA and greater. Checked everything reshot same problem. I broke out the Bore Scope to check for a build up in the chamber and did not notice anything out of the ordinary. For reference, I chambered one of the...

After 50 years of hunting Deer and Elk with many calibers, about 20 years ago I purchased a Browning Titanium Mtn. rifle in 300WSM for its out of the box weight, being an old fart now. I started out using 168 TTSX and never looked back. What I found in the majority of animals taken, the...

    Bullet Seating Depth

Good discussion I have learned more about carbon constrictions than ever before. Since we are talking about carbon where is the location of the carbon ring and how can it be stopped from forming? Once formed best way to remove it?

I agree 100%. However, a good dimension allows the tracking of throat wear.

    Bullet Seating Depth

I would have taken my bore scope immediately after running into the problem and looked at the throat, BUT my hunting buddy has it and he is off in the boonies riding his Razor. My next step is to wait for him to get back before before taking ant further action. In the mean time I will make a...

    Bullet Seating Depth

Yes, and that is probably what I will end up doing. However, now that I am running into this problem I have a hard time letting it go.

The Rifle: Browning Titanium Mountain in 300 WSM Tool used: Hornady OAL Gage, with the Hornady modified case Current conditions: I tripped over the current load and I have not changed it for 10 years, it shoots .3 MOA. Barrel Damage?

When cleaning carbon from a very old (1973), not well taken care rifle I found the same marks. I was told they were tooling marks caused by the manufacturing process. How old is this gun?
