Would it be better than to use the lil fun for the copper plated versus the hard cast then? Both are 240 grns. I could run them at full speed too if that is safer.

Townsend is a nice community that has all you need and Helena is right over the hill if you need the amenities of a bigger city. It's not as windy as livingston, but still can get the big winds. Snow doesn't seem to pile up like in some other sw montana cites.

Have both and the gun runner is not a pack to take elk hunting away from the roads. I have packed out an elk quarter with it once and was miserable. The team elk will pack as much weight as you can physically carry and still be comfortable. I do love both packs but the gun runner is just too...

Depending on the tag, you might only have one day to hunt. I have been through the Gallatin area a few times. Never hard to find sheep but I have never seen a legal ram.

Shot a Muley with my 6.5 creedmor and 129 sst at 300 yards. Did any excellent job. Complete pass through the vitals with a decent hole out. Couldn't ask for more.
