I've shot more deer with Interlocks than any other bullet. The second most with Partitions. While the Interlock is a good performer it is no Partition in my experience. I don't like how SSTs and Ballistic Tips perform at all. YMMV
Comparing my 7mm WSM to my 300 WM comes down to recoil. There's no question I prefer the 7mm WSM. Granted a 168 gr pill with less powder is going to have less recoil than a 180 gr pill with more powder behind it but the 300 WM has a sharpness to its recoil that other magnums I've shot don't...
Two range trips. No ring marks. Has the box. SWFA offered me $200 in trade-in value so that is what I'm asking here. $200 shipped in the USA with insurance.
I consider my investment in 7mm WSM Bertram brass a waste of money with inconsistent neck wall thickness, neck tension and case weights. I only have experience with 101 pieces so it may not be definitive but the case neck tension was not consistent after turning the necks and using a Sinclair...
Centerfire Rifle Cartridges in USA by popularity I'd guess 30-06, 308, 270, 223, 30-30, 243 and 6.5 Creedmoor. The belted magnums would be 300 Win Mag and 7mm Rem Mag and there has got to be a ton of 22-250s out there too. So there's my top 10.
My favorite 223 powders are RL 15, Varget and H335. I've gotten really good accuracy with H335 and Nosler 50 grain ballistic tip in my 22" bolt action 223 Rem. I use RL 15 for heavier bullets like 77 gr Custom Competitions. I'd personally start out with faster burning powders with light varmint...
They'll work fine and be safe to use in your bolt gun but you may end up over working your brass and their life may suffer because of it. In my experience brass shot in AR style rifles doesn't last nearly as long as brass shot in bolt action rifles for variables besides the types of reloading...
It's all about the case head and IMO this could be crazy dangerous and not worth the risk to you and the firearm. I'd throw them out. I'm interested in what Norma has to say though.
I don't know the weight as pictured but loaded with scope, rings, bipod, sling and cheekrest with extra ammo it's exactly 12 pounds. The only thing that I dislike about the rifle and by that I mean the short, fat 7mm WSM is that with the blindbox magazine it only holds 2 rounds.
The only other...
Here's mine, built by Kevin Cram at Montour County rifles. It's a 7mm WSM with an M70 action, Manner's MCS-SL and Brux #3 26" barrel. Nothing fancy but it's easy to carry, pleasant to shoot and accurate.
