Check your FFL!! CV-19 /FFL issues

I had a custom gun built that was completed this week. It will probably be shipped next Monday. I usually use my local Scheels for the FFL but I could easily see the Gubment closing them down as non-essential. This time I am using a friend with a FFL who works out of his house. I can just...

    Crispi Boots

I've had both Kennetrek and Crispi. If there is a nickels worth of difference, I couldn't tell it. I would buy which ever one is the least expensive at the time.

    Gun brass cleaner upgrade

I’ve never had that happen. Again, I have to assume the pins you were using were a different size. Use the pins I referenced earlier and this will never be a concern again.

    Gun brass cleaner upgrade

I have used stainless steel pins in a wet tumbler to clean well over 10,000 pieces of brass (both pistol and rifle) and have never never never had any problems with pins sticking in flash holes. When I used a vibratory cleaner with the usual walnut or corn cob media, there were always problems...

    Gun brass cleaner upgrade

I dump my cleaned wet cases on a bath towel. Grab two corners of the towel with each hand so you form a hammock like form and roll the cases back and forth by lifting alternate ends of the towel. Wait a day or put them in the oven to dry the insides.

    Flash Hole uniforming

I think 21st Century and Redding both make a deburring tool that indexes on the webbing of the cartridge head. This style cutter makes it impossible to cut to deep. The older style tools index on the mouth of the case and the slightest variation in trim length can either cause the cutter to...

Fall elk hunt with my 270

I shot a cow elk broadside at 250 yds last fall with my 270 win using Barnes 130g TTSX bullets. Muzzle velocity was 3035 fps. She went down at the shot. She sat there for over a half an hour with her head up but unable to get up. We were delayed in getting to her while we tried to navigate...

    300 PRC or 28

I would say it depends on your intended use. If you are hunting Elk, bigger is better, and the 300 magnums will shine. I'm not suggesting that the 7mms won't kill elk, but the 300 magnums are a slight bit better for that task IMO. I'm partial to the 300PRC. It's fast enough and is designed...

It took me a while to read all 34 pages, but well worth the time. Thanks for the link! It answered all my questions and a lot more.
