Checked out my friends new build this weekend, 338-06AI on a 700 action, he is very happy with initial load development. I’m a wee bit jealous.

Mainly the Bristol Bay area along with Kodiak, and the Bering Sea/Aleutians. Have friends in the Bethel area and their pics look a lot like yours.

Have both (Sako A11 in 7-08 and a late 80’s Medallion in 300wm), the A bolts are a solid hunting rifle, the Sako is arguably one of the better production rifles ever made. If the action/trigger are still in usable condition I’d build off of the Sako.

These are book velocity maximums from the Barnes web page entered into the Hornady calculator at my elevation, the .270 win holds its own pretty well.

I'm replying to myself so as to redact the 270 win from my list, recently picked up a Marlin X7 in 270 solely because it was cheap and hardly used. Shoots everything so far very well including handloaded 110gr TTSXs at a shy 3400 fps.

With a 110gr TTSX at 3400fps that would be a good candidate.

I would agree with this statement, I have used the 30 caliber on 6.5s, 7mms, and 30 calibers, and it works great on all of them, if there is a difference, I haven't noticed any.
