    Vortex lht comments?

Love the LHT. No issues tracking etc out to 800. haven't shot further. Best thing about this scope is light at dawn and dusk. excellent. I have 2. Also love the VH6 HD by Leupold. both are very light weight. Never handled that NF but had an ATACR. loved it, just too heavy SnT

Anyone come across this… blind deer

I bet it broke both antlers fighting and then continued picking fights until both eyes were gone. SnT

    Gravity effects on bullets

maybe if the bullet that is fired leaves teh barrel completely horizontally, but if shot at a target, you are shooting it upwards. Plus twist will keep it afloat a little longer, and aerodynamic jump will give it another boost. with long range flight times at 1 secon +, that bullet dropped by...

    Multiple Hammer bullets for sale

I shoot them in my 7-08. great bullets. can be pushed fast, lethal on game. I have shot deer with 101 grain and 120 grain and bang flop all. The 101 screams and kills instantly

    Crooked Spartan Precision gunsmith mount

When I have installed mine I drill completely through the stock with a 1/8" drill and then open it from the bottom to fit the adaptor, just in case i put one in crooked one day and would be able to press it out from inside the stock. still haven't had to. JB weld keeps teh m in there snug, even...

    Get the popcorn out

I shoot one with the 150 eldx at 2725 out of a 20" barrel. creedmoor has me beyond 600 yards but so do terminal ballistics on deer and my desire to kill one at that range...

    Canned Deer

Saskatchewan shows are great at putting logs in front of the bait. every deer is shot just past the log.... Snt

    gunsmith pricing

Why buy it all and then send it ti a smith to put together? Total cost is probably less if you gave the smith your specs and he purchased and put it all together for you. Would probably cost you less and make him a little more. I put together 2 rifles last year purchasing components. For an...

    Factory ammo

I shoot factory ammo in some guns that like factory loads. They dont all like the same. If I can't find the bullet I like in a factory load that a rifle likes I reload... I have spent a lot more on reloading stuff than I ever have on factory rounds, but the unneeded extra steps are a lot of fun. SnT

    Swaro Z8 feedback

I have Leupolds on most of my rifles, vx6HD. Main reason is weight. the Z8 is the gem in my safe. Light transmission and clarity is a+. I like it better than my Zeiss V6, NF ATACR. The only scope that came close to it in terms of last light shooting is a Vortex razor LH i have. But the LH has a...

    Swaro Z8 feedback

I have used mine for 5 or 6 years now. Never used the turret in the field as I haven't shot anything past 250, but i regularly shoot it at the range to 500 on steel and have never changed the setup since I first developed the load. No ladder or sophisticated tracking tests, but I still shoot 1/2...

    Thermal Sight In

I find sighting a thermal scope a perfect reason to light up a cigarette. I bet it has been a while. Bad for you yes, but poke a hole in the target and when half way done, stick it into it and fire away. Marlboro reds are great! Wife: you stink of cigarettes. you: no, i stink of success. SnT

    Rangefinders with Ballistic Apps

I use Leica glass and years ago went away from Bino with built in rangefinder. Rangefinders evolve and improve faster than glass. I use the SIG 2400AB on the side and have never had an issue with it, but upgrading to the 8k this summer. Not as fast as glass and click, but I can upgrade the laser...
