Worst gun to date: Savage A17 17hmr. Was picky on ammo that would feed and shot 2-3" at 100 yards. I filled the Tupperware stock with some epoxy and steel rods and bedded the action and it brought it down to a 1.5" gun but still didn't like to feed most ammo. I couldn't complain too much, I...
I found a custom built .243 on a Manners stock a few months back on another site. The guy originally listed it for $3000 and had it marked down to $1250 just trying to offload it. Still kicking myself for that one.
Thank you. And honestly I don't know I'll have to look it up. I don't think the 4.27" action screws will fit this but as far as the bolt release they might be universal. I bought this several years ago when they first came out. It's served me well but I want to go back to a stock that's a little...
I am selling my Savage 10 SA (4.40") Oryx Chassis. Stock has an amature multicam paint job done with duracoat by yours truly. Has a few chips in the paint around the mag well but is otherwise in good shape. Barreled action and scope are not for sale. $300 shipped. I accept all forms of payment.
I have only sold 3 firearms:
A Savage 110 30-06 to a friend that wanted to buy a hunting rifle for his teenage boys that were learning to hunt and it was just taking up space in the safe.
A savage auto 17 that didn't shoot that great, and was picky on ammo that would actually make it feed...
I'll add in another vote to listening to the Shoot2Hunt Podcast ( I think you can find it on YouTube as well.) They have a sit down with the owner and it's a pretty interesting discussion. Unknown Munitions is making most of their guns with Ace barrels and have a reputation for building some...
53gr V-Maxs are hard to beat for varmints and accuracy, but if I were starting out I'd try those new 62 Gr Varmint bullets Hornady came out with and if you're wanting a bit heavier bullet that might be the way to go. Match Kings have a pretty tough jacket and not the best for killing things...
I have owned both. I went through a significant amount of research and wound up with the Sigs initially. The glass is just this side of garbage. After a couple seasons of getting headaches from days on end of glassing it finally dawned on me that it was the glass in those binos giving me those...
