BTW, don't think that Pa. is easy close range hunting. In Elk County we have old strip mines, huge fields, power and gas lines that give 1000 yard shots if you want. Not to mention the steep hollows that nobody wants to drag a deer out of let alone an elk

We have a family farm in Elk County west of St. Mary's. We're in the western edge of the elk range, I'm 65 and the elk herd has been growing in herd size and rack size, since they started the hunting seasons for them in the late 70s or so.
