Win Model 70 or Rem Model 7 7mm-08

Winchester Model 70 would be my choice. Remington has gotten sloppy with their quality control.

Starting out a young shooter, who's left eye dominant. Got questions..

I have helped shooters for years in the military and 4-H. If your son is right handed, shoot right handed. I have seen The challenge of eye dominance at an early age cause all kinds of frustration. As they get older I have seen the eye dominance change to the dominant hand. Midway and Amazon...

    Seating Depth Informative Thread

I’m just starting with precision rifle. Don’t have the budget to get to carried away so on the advice of a friend bought a 308 Remington 700 rifle. If I seat the bullet .010 from lands it will not fit the magazine. Heck it only has about 20% of a168 gr. bullet in the case. (Remington getting...

What Got Everbody Started Reloading ?

I started watching my dad and helping him. He loaded for saving money plus he could tune the loads for accuracy. He didn’t really try for sub MOA, but if he could cover most his shot group with a quarter it was considered good. He let me use his 243 for deer and varmint. It was hard to find a...

Who crimps their bullets in the case?

I have been using a set of RCBS reloading die’s that came with my old Sears and Roebuck Ted Williams 30-06 I have used them for years. After cleaning FL sizing and case prep I would seat the bullet then run the bullet adjustment out to use the role crimp in the die. I couldn’t get the accuracy...

What do you think is WRONG with my bench shooting?? Group?

Could possibly be something as simple as finger placement. When it is snowing & blowing, I practice dry fire at a sheet of paper with as small a dot as I can see. I have noticed that when I get complacent & just go through the motions my follow through ends up at 8 or 9 o’clock on the paper...

I help clean up and help with repairs at our local gun range and for years the majority of brass we pick up has been 223, 308, 30-06, 7mm rem mag, & 300 win mag. Still quite a bit of 270, 243, 25-06 and getting more 6.5 now a days.

    Camp food ideas?

Looks like you have it covered. We use get milk in the cardboard containers and would put our soups, stews scrambled eggs & chilly in it, freeze it. If we had a spike camp all we needed was a pot, then pealed the cardboard off, heat and eat. Beacon flavored spam cut thin to go with scrambled eggs.

Best piece of reloading of equipment u have

I was having a similar problem with my loads. My old RCBS scale is within 1/2 a tenth of a grain, the smallest I could find for checking my scale. I found a book by McFerson on reloading the metallic cartridge. He suggested the Lee factory crimp die. I know allot of people consider Lee the low...
