I am looking at getting a Remington carbine in 35 Whelen for hog hunting. I know there are lots of other calibers that will work; however, I have most of them and no 35 calibers. My question is, is it worth it to convert Lapua 30-06 brass to 35 Whelen? I am not going to be running high...

I don't have any. There is no point to go any further. With MagPro you can dump and go. Have not chrono'd the load, but off of the drops, it is in the 3100 fps range.

That looks great for the RL 17. I went ahead and loaded from 58 to 61 grs to get an idea.

Don't overlook Norma URP, HV100 or IMR 4007ssc. I have had great luck with all of these in various calibers when 4350/4831 standbys did not cut it accuracy-wise. As an added bonus, I usually picked up some velocity with the better groups. I would look into the HV100 esp.

I use them in my 300 SAUM with great success too. I prefer the 175 SMK over the 178 AMAX. I have taken deer out to 315 yards with the SMK, and I have always had good exit holes. I am shooting them at around 2950 fps.

I am looking at getting a Tikka T3 in either a 260 or 6.5x55SE. Is there a performace difference in them? I will use them for deer/hogs out to 400 yards and paper out to 800 or so. In a modern rifle, I do not see any difference other than Lapua brass for the Swiss. Any other opinions?
