I guess I shouldn't worry about buying that rimfire with a 28.6 inch barrel that I have been eyeing to use without a scope other than finding the right ammo that it prefers.

You can buy 140-142 gr factory loads that run 2700-2750 fps. So your load seems a little low as far as potential.

How does barrel length change the velocity of a 22lr? Can a barrel be too long and slow the muzzle velocity or is there an increase up to whatever barrel lengths are typically offered?

Thanks for your responses. The other powder that looked like it might work for both was IMR4350, so I'm glad I see some recommendations for that. I'm leaning toward that right now as it might work for some other chamberings as well.
