Dall sheep or mountain goat - which is a better hunt?

Dall Sheep would be my automatic choice. I've killed two of each and spend way more time looking at the Dall arms on my wall than the Mountain Goats. Just my opinion.....

GAP talked my buddy out of a 300 RUM

George, Show up a day or two early and we'll find some live targets to shoot before everybody shows up. FWIW, George does more than just punch paper and ring steel.

GAP talked my buddy out of a 300 RUM

George, The shoot dates are April 28th and 29th. Hope to see you and many others there. We will be setting up a "Hunter's Course", per your suggestion last fall. It will be challenging and fun. One thing that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is the very short barrel life of the .300 RUM...

My 21's are my most important piece of equipment.

Vectronix range finder - best place to buy?

They work pretty well as shown here. The wooden lightpole is probably 8" in diameter where I ranged it. Moving just off of it and ranging the grain elevator was no problem. Pictures were taken through my Vector 21's....

Vectronix range finder - best place to buy?

Cory Trapp is your guy. He's a member in here. I picked up a Vector 21 from him last winter. If he doesn't have one to sell, he should be able to hook you up.

.260 Remington 24" 1:8 Twist... Best bulet Wt.

I pose with a friends good mule deer buck he took with my GAP Crusader in .260. Felled with a single 139gr scenar at 340 meters. 42.5grs H4350@2850fps. If you have a 1-8" twist look at the 139gr scenar and 140 Berger VLD(hunting). I have two .260's, one is a GAP Crusader with a 4-16X56...

    Berger 115gr vld leathality?

I've used that bullet in several 25/06's and .257 Weatherby's on deer and antelope with great results... I've also killed some large black bears with my 6XC and 115gr VLD's as well. Just drive it straight!

    Novice: 308W to 600 yds...

I've killed a crapload of big game with several different .308's and 155gr scenars. That bullet has never let me down and I'll keep using it. I drive it at 2925 to 2960 fps with Varget.

    NE Montana

Not trying to discourage you....just telling it like it is....I'd go south across the Missouri. FWIW, the surviving whitetail deer here along the Milk River took a bad hit from "Blue Tongue" this summer. I live right on the river and haven't seen a deer all summer. I found bunches of dead...
