What gun would you want if the SHTF?

A good 22 rimfire if I had to be on the go for extended periods. I can hold 300 rounds in my pocket and use it for just about anything I need to eat or stop with correct shot placement.

    Gun works rifles

Since Netz mentioned something I forgot. I've been using their range finders from their inception. The original was better than anything on the market years ago and their new one still is. My next purchase will be their range finding binoculars and bipod. Everything they introduce is cutting...

    Gun works rifles

Found this thread and figured I would throw in my 2 cents. In the last 30 years I have had all my rifles built for me ranging from .223-300wm and have been reloading for them for over 40 years. Most shoot really well if I do my part. I bought a Gunwerks Nexus because I wanted a new gun with...

    Took some borescope pics

You can remove all carbon with a little work, not always necessary. As for the fire cracking that's normal. If it still shoots don't worry.

    What’s your spookiest hunting experience?

Here's my story, not as scary as some but left out to dry as the saying goes. I was on an elk hunt in Oregon that a few friend's and i booked, mistake #1. Opening day the so called guides separated our group by dropping us off in different spots of the ranch at dark thirty. I happened to be let...

    Altitude vs. Barometric pressure

Us sea level dwellers don't have that problem:) Although I am very conscious of it when flying to Tahoe.

    Altitude vs. Barometric pressure

DA in aviation is pressure altitude corrected for "non standard conditions". For our needs just use pressure, temp and if wanted humidity. Use a chart or some other electronic means to figure out. Most newer electronic range finders will figure all that out along with shooting angle.

    Altitude vs. Barometric pressure

It affects both, Less molecules in the air to interact with in "High Density altitude". You would think something with a High Density is more dense than something with low density, not true in this case.

    Altitude vs. Barometric pressure

I am Talking about the word "high" and "low" density altitude, I'm a pilot. "High Density altitude" means thin air opposite of what it sounds like.

    Altitude vs. Barometric pressure

Nope, it's the opposite of what it sounds like.

    Altitude vs. Barometric pressure

Humidity has the smallest affect on DA, temperature and pressure altitude the most.

Amazing how many fellow pilots hunt.
