I'm gonna say try without the crimp and see what happens. It's the phantom pressure without velocity. Could be too much burn in the chamber and not enough down the tube. Could be one of those slow rifles. Could be too much space in the chamber causing bolt thrust. Could be brass still has...
We didn't have this one quite ready yesterday when I posted the 210gr HHT, or I would have posted them together. We now have the 220gr .338 Cal Hammer HHT ready to go. This one will be the heaviest of the 338 HHT's that will feed out of the factory magazine 338 Winchester Magnums. I...
It was good! Load doesn't count if it doesn't shoot well! It was a Ruger American and shoots about .5 moa, like they always seem to do. Those rifles are just stupid.
Hey @jlarose85, I'm not sure if you can get enough varget in the case to get to pressure. We just loaded one and we used Benchmark very nicely. I think it is readily available right now and one of the Hodgdon Extreme powders.
Not yet. We had a meeting this week with the company that is making our tipping machine and they have made great progress in the engineering of tip, bullet orienting and the mechanism that brings them together. Outlook is we will see the machine about July. Until then we will send them out...
If you enter an order on the site it will calculate your shipping cost prior to payment. Make sure you have you permits in place prior to placing your order. The Ausie customs will destroy the product if your permits applied for after you place the order. @fordy can help you with how to...
That's good. I would guess you will end up a bit faster with these. We usually see 50-100 fps higher than conventional lead core bullets at the same pressure.
I don't care for archery hunting in that area because of the griz. For that matter it's not very high on my list to hunt with a rifle. The odds of a bear encounter with meat or game calls is very high. The areas around glacier park are tough. We could certainly support a griz season.
I...
We will attempt lighter HHT's in the 338. We just have to make sure we can get them to reliably open and shed the nose down to 1800 fps or better. Looks like you should be able to run the 210's at about 2800 fps.
Not pre 64. This rifle was bought new in the early 80's. I've re-barreled it a couple of times and it sits in a Boyds now. It's nice to shoot but I think we can get rid of some weight with carbon. A bird told me that AG might be working on this. Or maybe it was Mesa.
